To Decide

The Friday’s come so much faster these days.

More frequently, too it seems.

Waking up before the sun isn’t the way it used to be either.

Feels like living in a time lapse video.

Seems a bit rushed,

a tinge out of your control,

a tad spontaneous,

but not in the good way.

It’s more like disoriented — yeah

Wave me in a figure 8 to re-calibrate my GPS.

You figure listening to some mellow singer with an acoustic guitar will help you figure things out at 5 o’clock in the morning.

Or that a dramatic text to a loved one or mentor will flip the switch of inspiration.

Well, it doesn’t.

I’d say you ought to keep wandering until you reach that split in the road, pick a path — the path that looks most fortuitous — and plan each and every step you take.

Or

just decide right where you stand.

That’s worked out well in the past.

Have a look around you.
